Every Portal sits in a high-traffic public space, in a different country, on a completely different network. What runs smoothly in one city might struggle in the next. And the stakes of a bad connection aren’t hidden behind a dashboard; they’re visible to every single person standing in front of the sculpture.
This was never about finding a signal in the middle of nowhere. It was about guaranteeing stable, high-quality connectivity across a growing global network of cities, where no two locations are the same.
Portals Organization needed a setup that could absorb the unpredictability of dozens of different networks and deliver one thing, consistently: a flawless live image.
Frontier EU didn’t just supply the hardware. As Europe’s largest Peplink distributor, they sat down with Portals Organization, worked out exactly what the project needed, and designed a solution that could scale with it, from architecture and hardware selection through to configuration and ongoing support.
The answer went into the latest generation of Portals: a Peplink BR2 Pro router with 2x 5G modems, installed inside every new sculpture.
At the heart of it is SpeedFusion, Peplink’s patented tech that combines multiple connections into one stable tunnel. Instead of relying on a single network that might wobble depending on where the Portal is installed, SpeedFusion pulls from every connection available and absorbs any congestion, fluctuation or instability before it ever reaches the livestream.
The result? The best possible connection, all the time, in any city.
The image stays smooth. The jitter is gone. And the Portal does what it’s meant to do, not a screen, but a window.
Every device is monitored and managed remotely through InControl2, so the full global network can be kept running without anyone needing to be on-site.
